Life is at its most marvelous when natural weather phenomena and fantastic, otherworldly occurrences are virtually indistinguishable. Chief among them: the haboob. This one rolled over the suburbs of Phoenix earlier this week. Haboob comes from the Arabic verb هب (hábba), which means “to blow” or “to rage”; a fitting term to describe a sandstorm, or a fat, angry djinn.
